February

So I recieved and have mostly finished my Block of the Month. I have got my block of the month pieces together that I need to have together for March 5th. For the Block of the month I needed to complete 3 star blocks and other half square triangles. It was an interesting thing as I had never made the stars before.

The half square triangles weren't to hard. I had some fun with these. I am learning new tecniques all the time.

My star bloocks I was unsure of when I was putting them together but once I got them all together they look ok.

And then we have the other O' Christmas Tree quilt that I am also doing month by month.

This month we had to make two trees. I had never used any fusible techique until now.

I do like the way it came out now I just need to do some applique to finish in off!
I am enjoying working on these block of the month projects. Each month I am learning new stuff when completing each of these different blocks doing different things that I have never done before.
So I can't wait to get my next set of blocks so I can try more new things and see what else I can learn.

Weekend Getaway!

A weekend away was just what we needed after so much working on the house and all the basketball games.
This is what I arrived to on Saturday evening. A lot of relaxing after a long day of snowmobiling so I had to join in the relaxing after a long day of basketball.
Wayne and Ryan found them selves quite comfortable.

Mom and Dad enjoyed a drink with the two dogs. This is a great family picture!

Gram and Gramp had a great set up for their bed. It looks nice and cozy and looks like a great place to sleep.

I had to join gram the next morning when I came down and found her still in bed.

Here we have a meeting on the minds. These three come up with some random and sometimes crazy ideas.

Carol and Wayne looking at the beautiful view as we stopped to enjoy the lookout!

Look at that row of snowmobiles. And all Polaris!

Ryan rode up to the lookout behind the house on the power line to get some pictures.

You can see everything from up there!

Auntie Day

I got a call this past weekend that I simple could not refuse!!!!!
I was called and asked if I would watch that cute little niece of mine for the day.  Who could turn down and offer like that.  I sure couldn't.  So she came and spent the day with me playing!  We went up to the new house with mom and Carol to finish a little painting, and investigate.  She has decided on which room she wants to be hers at Auntie's house!

Quality time with Autumn as mom and Carol get things ready to start painting.  By the way, the color in the background is the new color of my sewing room!

While we painted Autumn had her bag of toys which she dug into and pulled every toy out.  Oh well, that's why I have a "toy bag" instead of a toy box so we can carry it place to place with us.

She was very interested in being able to help paint.  We let her hold the roller after the paint was cleaned off and before we put new paint on it.  At first she wanted to hold the "color" end.  Once she got the roller she decided she would much rather just pass it around.

In "Autumn's" room she found the bathroom mirror laying on the floor.  She found this to be fun as she would touch herself in the mirror and climb on the mirror.

She is always a joy to have around and I always love spending time with her.  I take every chance I get to spend time with her and anytime they need me to see her.

She is my pride and joy and I spoil her as much as I possibly can.  Lindsey and Jermey told me that she needs a play mate.  Well, no playmate from me in a while.  We need to get through the wedding and house first.  She will have to find another playmate for the time being.

Another week another disappointment.  I have my wedding dress and I really need to be focused on loosing some weight before the wedding.  I am not doing so well currently.  I try and try and try and for some reason I get side tracked and don't focus on my weight loss.

I am determined to start working out now as the craziness of basketball is winding down.  I just have basketball practice once more (tonight) and a round robin tournament on Saturday.  So hopefully I can turn my focus on to the wedding and try this weight loss journey.

I weigh in tomorrow morning and I am just hoping to see some loss from last week even if it is only a small amount.  So today I paste a picture of my wedding dress in front of my face so I can try and be focused.  I need to open up a can of determination and focus and get myself in gear!

Valentines Day!!!!

In honor of Valentines Day!!!!

I love this man!

Never in this world did I ever imagine that this man and I would be together and be spending the rest of our life together.   Although we have some differences and age is a huge difference we still love each other and I wouldn't trade him for the world.  We spend a lot of wonderful time together and enjoy all the time that we do have together.

Never did I imagine riding to the fair together on one day would get the two of us where we are today.  I know that I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Here we are a year and a half later, we have bought and are in the process of renovating a house, we are planning a wedding, and have spent many great "mini-vacations", and family outings together.

After the time we have been together I am still not a special day person.  We don't do presents and all the good stuff but I am stumped because I want to do something random and fun to surprise Ryan for the evening but I cannot seem to figure out something to do.  We will see what the evening does and how things go and maybe just a visit to the new house with a romantic candle light dinner on the floor?  Or maybe just sit at the house and do nothing.  I guess it all depends on how I feel.

Friends and Family

Sambo came to visit me at my new house the first day. There were many people and he was shy but he was very excited to climb the ladder and see how high he could go. It was so nice to see them and was so glad that they got to come get my new house.

At least my future mother in-law came with chairs so we could fold them out and have places for people to sit. Everyone came a spent a couple hours and we enjoyed their company!

A toast to the new homeowners!

Sophie enjoyed wandering around the new house. She now has her new bed there and she loves laying on the bed and watching all the current construction going on.

Enjoying the company!!!!

Block of the Month ~ January

So I decided this year that I was going to participate in a Block of the Month program with my grandmother at a local quilt shop. Not only are we participating in a block of the month program where we buy the first block and if we come the next month with it completed then we get the next block for free.

So I go to the meeting and I get this bag.....

It has all kinds of different material in it. And it makes this......

Now I just have to paint my windows on.

And I will try to get a picture up as soon as I can get a picture of it!

I am also participating in another quilt program where I pay the same amount each month for 12 months and each month I get material to make a block. At the end I will have all kinds of similar blocks that I will then put together to make a large quilt.

I also got another bag.....

And it makes a block like this....

Well okay, it made two identical blocks.......

I will be interested to see how these will all go together in the end and how they will look.
