Okay so Ryan left Friday and the rest of the boys left on Sunday for a Moose hunt! I'll admit I was a bit sad and not sure if I was ready for Ryan to leave knowing he could be gone for up to 7 days.
But I also knew I would have a lot of fun! Friday night my cousin and I stayed at my grandmothers. The two grand daughters and gram, a night of dinner, sewing, talking, eating and enjoying each others company. Saturday evening I got to spend time with 2 great kiddos while their parents enjoyed an evening out! Why not work a few etra hours while you husband is out of town? Followed by a night at mom and Dad's. Which is where I would spend the following 4 nights.
We had everything set up perfectly! 4 sewing machines two cutting boards, the radio and delicious food! Sunday evening I did a bit of sewing during Happy Hour. Monday night Gram and Bella came down for a sewing evening.
I worked on cutting sqaures and sewing them into strips. This is going to be a baby quilt which is all minkee, front and back although I probably won't do the binding in minkee.
I made a "Winter Wonderland" wall hanging. This is isn't my favorite but maybe I will being to like it at some point.
Okay.....So I made two "Winter Wonderland" wall hangings. It was a kit of 4 and I got two done this weekend.
Tuesday night we had more company! My mother in-law came up to join us for dinner and some sewing time!
Now don't they all look like they are having a great time?
This is my quilt all put together. Minkee. It is extremly soft!
Big for a baby blanket but they will be able to it while they grow up also. But I was informed I need to get more minkee and make a carseat size quilt!
Mom and Carol got into the wine. Something about Orland Hill or something or other. But we found more amusment in the fact the the cover says OH. And how many different ways can 3 women say the word OH and make it sound so different each time.
And these two mother's of mine are trying to figure out something to do with mom's borders to her quilt.
And Mom calls this her "fugly" quilt. She does seem to like it but I think it will grow on her with time. The more we talk about the "fugly" quilt the more we talk about how it reminds me of my great grandmothers house. It will grow on her I'm sure!
So my weekend of fun with my mother doing lots of sewing is over. But I must say....just in to for a scheduled Shop Hop that starts today! I am off with 5 lovely ladies....My grandmother, my mother, my mother in-law, our dear friend Lynda and myself! We will be visiting 9 quilt shops within the next three days! And hopefully I remember to take my camera with me so I can write about it after!
